Choices

I feel so alone,
Which path should I choose,
One goes to death,
The other just goes on.
My friends pull me from death,
My friends save me from myself,
When my friends are with me,
I’m home.
My family doesn’t know my feelings,
Nor do my friends,
I wish to open up,
But I’m just to afraid.
So many paths,
So many lies,
And so many choices,
I just [...]

Lies

I’m surrounded by them,
There all around me.
I can’t see past them,
I only see people who use them.
They follow me everywhere,
Can anyone help me
Escape from all these lies?
I keep running but they,
Are everywhere.
I run and run,
But can’t escape.
The lies are hurting me…
Filling my eyes with tears,
Breaking my heart,
And making me choose wrong over right.

Talking Trees

Walking alone,
Down the stairs that keep me up,
I walk under the archway and stop,
The wind is a slow push and cool on my face.
The sky is Grey and the ground is wet,
The sun tries to burn through, but all is heavy.
I’m listening alone,
Breezy memories drag through the date palms,
Bending them slow, bidding hush to all [...]

You Lost Me

You said you’d be better,
Said you wouldn’t hurt me,
Like he did.
Only to hurt me worse,
You said he was a jerk,
And didn’t know what he was missing out on,
Now you’re missing out,
You said you care about me,
That you were scared to lose me
But the moment you hurt me,
You lost me.
You said you’d try harder,
Than any other [...]

Our Time

It’s our time,
So let’s relish,
These beautiful moments,
We will always cherish.
I feel your love,
It’s penetrating,
Distance can’t keep,
Our passion from fading.
It’s our time,
Let’s make it last,
We were given a second chance,
No matter what our past.
It’s our time,
Let the love shine through,
From this moment on,
It’s just me and you.
This poem was written/submitted by JoAnn.

Love

Love isn’t an action,
It’s more like something you feel .
It doesn’t have a certain body motion or a certain sex appeal,
It’s something that comes naturally and it takes over your mind.
It doesn’t care who, when’ or where or even at what time,
People have confused it for desire of the flesh.
But love is something different.
Its something [...]

Memories Of Life’s Pain

The memories that have been left behind,
Have hurt you and are hard to find,
When you think of them it pains you,
Because of how bad someone hurt you,
When life puts you down,
You can’t be wearing a frown,
If you get hurt again just get up,
Dust yourself off, and cheer up,
Once you’re hurt you’ll learn from that ’cause,
Then [...]
