Bird in the Box
Posted in User Submitted on January 2nd, 2011
Can you hear the bird in the box,
Thrashing and shrieking,
And picking the locks?
They say she’ll be fine,
They say she’ll survive,
They say that she’s better inside,
Locked away.
But what if someday.
She’s broken and hopeless,
Her wings have been torn.
Left with dreams that were shattered,
Before they were born?
And no one will help her,
They all will agree,
That the bird in the box,
Must never be free.
So I’m left here alone,
With the bird in the box
And she’s begging for someone to find the key.
