Butterfly
Her hand flies to her fluttering heart,
Her eyes bat, but he looks on a head
Her mouth waters, and the shaking begins to start
He brushes past her, and scurries away
Her head down, she goes on home
Rests her head of blond on the crispy leaf
In her memory his face, hard as stone
A tear falls, dripping off the tip of her bed
Startling her, the sound of soft foot steps beneath the branch she calls her own
Her wide gorgeous blue eyes search for reason
They rest on him, instantly softened; the wind grips a piece of her hair, blown
Before it settles on her breast
“Beautiful lady why you cry?” his handsome voice carries through her
Pinching her heart, and the fluttering starts all over again
“Why it’s you I love, but me your attention is not on.” Brrr
Suddenly she feels the cold, her eyes fill with tears bubbling over
“Do not cry, for I love you so” his wing brushes her cheek
Her tears fly away, settling on a leaf above
“Do you think that perhaps I have not noticed you, my life so bleak?”
“Your glorious smile, the light in my darkness.”
“Your stunning vibrant wings, with such delicate lace”
A smile spreads across her pale face, her tears instantly dried
“My love, that be so, please take to be your bride?”
Wrapping his rough wing “round a light brown twig; he presents her the most gorgeous ring she’s ever seen.
