Forevermore

Posted in User Submitted on November 22nd, 2009

We were the chosen ones to be slain,
Who were captured in war,
And died in vain.

We were the ones,
Mothers and such,
Who were strapped to bombs,
And held before guns.

Our cries drowned,
Our children bound,
No one was there to help.

Our freedom gone,
Our lovers lost,
What was the point to live?

You are the chosen to go to war,
To fight for our rights,
Forever more.

You have loved ones,
Wives and such,
Waiting for you to return,

We were the chosen,
You are the chosen,
What difference is there?

Every year,
There are wars,
With problems, people can’t bear.

Mothers, daughters and sons alike,
No one knows who to trust anymore.

Who is innocent?
Who is guilty?
What difference is there?

We’ve gone to war,
Far too long,
And where dose it get us?

Ruined homes,
Ruined lives,
People will never forget.

We were the chosen to be slain,
Who were captured in war,
And died in vain.

You and your ones,
Mothers and such,
Will be strapped to bombs,
And held before guns.

Your cries will be drowned,
Your children bound,
No one will be there to help.

Do we have to fight?
Is it worth the lives?
Are our souls still white?

Has it become a ritual?
Where when we hear “war”,
We know what to do?

Has it already become alright,
To kill those who pray,
And release those who fight?

Has it become ok,
To capture the good,
And do what with them we may?

Is the world evil?
Or has society changed?

Ruined homes,
Ruined lives,
People will never forget.

And this circle of play,
Will continue all night,
And go through the day.

And this circle of play,
Will last all month,
And our hearts will heavily weigh.

Who is innocent?
Me or you?

Who should die?
Me or you?

Who should live?
Us or them?

Four years move slow,
When you’re running away,
Or hiding deep in the ground.

Wouldn’t it be better if there were no wars?
Or at least five times fewer?

We were the chosen ones to be slain,
Who were captured in war,
And died in vain.

You are the chosen to go to war,
To fight for our rights,
Forever more.

You are the chosen to go to war,
To fight for your country,
Forever more.

Ruined homes,
Ruined lives,
People will never forget.

Forevermore.
