Not Seeing Without Fear

My beautiful Deb,
In Cairns out at sea,
I hold out my hand,
One day, come back to me.

We both love sunshine,
Hardly ever the rain,
Both reaching for love,
Not wanting the pain.

Not going in blindly,
Nor seeing without fear,
Having you love me,
Would top off my year.

I really do want you,
Meaningful and true,
For the one that I need,
Absolutely is You.

Message Bird

Remember the other night,
In flew your message bird,
I said it was cupid,
No more absurd,
I had a laugh,
It gave you a fright,
Maybe part of your culture,
But I reckon I’m rite.

Despair

Accusations, rumor and innuendo,
It made me despair,
My honest denials,
You didn’t care.

My actions that morning,
Has brought me to shame,
A candle once lit,
Your tears killed the fame,

Reaching out from Mackay,
To reignite that flame,
Was a sleepless night,
Whispering your name.

Wrongful decisions,
Made in the past,
Your fragile heart,
I shattered like glass,

I want to hold you tight,
Have your heart once more,
Tell you “I Love You”,
Deb its you I adore.

Thoughts and Wishes

When you phone,
Why nothing to say?
Listening to silence,
Thats not the way.

Not a clairvoyant,
Or mind reading sleuth,
No pretense or deceit,
Just want the truth.

Tell me your thoughts,
Whats in your heart?
Things you are feeling,
Would be a great start.

Your wishes and dreams,
I’m longing to hear,
Just a few words,
Might make it clear.

I yearn to be treated,
As I treat you,
Respectfully, honestly
Caring and true..

There’s Only One

There’s only one touch I long to feel,
Only one face I long to see,
There’s only one voice I long to hear,
One set of arms to be wrapped round me.

There’s only one heart I long to have,
One hand I want in mine.
There’s only you that can make me smile,
Each and every single time.

There’s only you my one true love,
That can make me feel this way.
My soul mate for forever,
Until my dying day.

Bird in the Box

Can you hear the bird in the box,
Thrashing and shrieking,
And picking the locks?
They say she’ll be fine,
They say she’ll survive,
They say that she’s better inside,
Locked away.
But what if someday.
She’s broken and hopeless,
Her wings have been torn.
Left with dreams that were shattered,
Before they were born?
And no one will help her,
They all will agree,
That the bird in the box,
Must never be free.

So I’m left here alone,
With the bird in the box
And she’s begging for someone to find the key.
